Long time no see.
Three months have passed since the last shop update.
The largest volume of orders ever, combined with moving,
left me completely exhausted.
I don't have much stamina to begin with,
and I'm usually not one to rely on sheer willpower,
so I'm amazed I got through it.
Perhaps it helped that I went to Seoul and Kyoto during that time,
enjoyed a change of scenery and some fun,
and recharged a little.
I've been thinking about what to do for the next shop update,
dyeing various new colors,
and trying out new bases,
but since summer is hot after all,
I'll be slowing down the pace a bit.
So, here's the Goma-Shio Project.
As you can see on Instagram,
many wonderful creations were knitted from the previous Goma-Shio yarn.
This time, we have four types available.
Ichigo no Sauce (Strawberry Sauce)
This time, we've prepared cute red speckles.
I didn't want to use "strawberry" too easily,
but no matter how long I thought about it, I couldn't come up with anything else.
Kirin to Sakana (Giraffe and Fish)
This was the title of a blog I used to write.
It's a metaphor from a novel.
It was used as a simile to describe things with absolutely nothing in common,
like a giraffe and a fish.
The name doesn't particularly relate to the yarn color,
but it's strange how you start to see it that way when told. lol
Parsley
Honestly, I could only think of things like shiso or green onions, just condiments.
But I didn't want to tie everyone down to such a scent image while knitting,
so I compromised and went with "parsley."
It's a more Italian-style parsley.
Goma-Shio (Sesame Salt)
The classic "Goma-Shio."
I apologize in advance. This sample isn't properly faded.
It should originally have clear gradations, like the image below ↓

If you check the "#gomashio_project" hashtag on Instagram,
you'll see many lovely creations.
The "Gomashio" yarn that our valued customer, Kumiko-sama, test-knitted for LJP previously.
Without alternating stitches, clearly separating the colors creates a lovely striped effect.
Alternatively, like michiko_38-san, if you alternate stitches for about 10 rows, the colors blend smoothly into the next.

Colors are numbered from darkest: #04 →#03 →#02→ #01→ #00.
Please choose your favorite colors, bases, and quantities.
We have prepared pure white (#00) for the ends.
#00 is undyed raw yarn. (Please refrain from purchasing #00 only)
All undyed bases #00 are ¥1296 (tax included) per skein.
Even a simple pullover
will become a unique piece with the Gomashio project.
You can fade from dark to light, or the other way around.
Dark → Light → Dark, etc. It's also good to create your own rhythm!
For versatility when you have leftovers, Sock-type bases are a smart choice.
Like Uroko-san and Michiko-san, knitting a plump sweater with Single Merino is enchanting.
When I actually saw the finished pieces,
the exquisite feel and beautiful fade gave them the warmth unique to handmade items.

This applies not only to the Gomashio Project,
but speckles (color dots) can sometimes have mixed colors.
As shown in the image below, "Parsley" has green speckles,
but due to the nature of dyes where various color particles dissolve to create "green,"
the speckles may exhibit various colors.
Of course, if other colors are too prominent or compromise the tone,
we reject them as products and handle them as outlet items (the yarn itself is completely fine).
↑ A slight pink bleed
The black speckles of "Gomashio" are a collection of many color particles,
so as shown in the image, brown, red, and sometimes blue may appear.
Personally, I find this interesting as it creates depth and dimension,
but we would appreciate it if you could understand the above before making your purchase.
