Skinny Single and Single Merino

I've organized the yarn bases available at LemonJellyPool.

■Single■

First, the Single (1-ply) yarns.

We have SingleMerino and SkinnySingle.

The one we initially carried was

SingleMerino 400m/100g, plump and fluffy.

This yarn is similar to MDT's MerinoLight.

And the other one is

SkinnySingle 366m/100g, a single-ply with a firm twist.

It's similar to La Bien Aimée's MerinoSingles or

Hedgehog Fibres' Skinny Singles.

Both take color well and are vibrant.

It's a little hard to tell, but

(Left or Top) SingleMerino

(Right or Bottom) SkinnySingle

SingleMerino is incredibly squishy and softer to the touch than Skinny.

As the name suggests, Skinny is slightly thinner and has a firm twist,

making it knit beautifully for delicate shawls and such.

The image below might make it a little clearer.

The SkinnySingle on the left has a crisp feel.

■MerinoSock

4-ply Fingering weight

400 m/100g

This is a standard yarn overseas,

like a quintessential sock yarn.

It's resistant to splitting and has a fluffy texture.

The colors are milder than 1-ply.

It's very stretchy and durable, yet it's 100% Superwash Merino.

■MerinoSockSpringy■

2-ply Fingering weight

365 m/100g

This is my favorite yarn.

Actually, when I first ordered yarn from an overseas dyer on their recommendation,

I had been preferring single-ply yarns like MDT,

so when this yarn was included, I was a bit disappointed.

But then I decided to use it first and started knitting,

and it's so easy to knit with!!!!

It's especially recommended for brioche.

When I knitted brioche with single-ply, personally, the YO stitches looked like

insect legs or joints? and bothered me.

But when knitting with this Springy, the fluffy 2-ply threads

puff up, and the brioche stitches are easy to keep even,

and the V-shape of the YO stitches doesn't bother me.

Some people can knit brioche beautifully and evenly with single-ply,

so this is just my personal opinion.

Also, as it's a sock yarn, it's very elastic and durable.

■Heavenly DK■

I haven't encountered many DK yarns with a texture I really like,

so I was hesitant to stock a large quantity,

but I found it! It's simply heavenly.

Super fluffy and incredibly squishy.

It's on a heavenly level.

■MCN Sock■

80% Superwash Merino

10% Cashmere 10% Nylon

Fingering weight

350 m/100g

This yarn is super soft.

It contains cashmere, making it rich, and nylon, making it

a durable sock yarn.

The price is a little higher than the others,

but once you experience this texture, you'll be hooked.

It's a luxurious yarn for knitting special shawls.

■Kid Mohair Silk■

70% Kid Mohair, 30% Mulberry Silk

Lace weight

420 m/50g

Knitting with mohair creates a melty texture

and adds more nuance than knitting it alone.

Don't let trivial things like getting fuzz on your black or navy winter coats deter you;

you'll want to diligently use a lint roller to savor

the enchanting texture of this Kid Mohair (with silk!).

Finally

Previously, we carried SingleMerino and SkinnySingle mixed together under the "Single" category.

From now on, we have clearly separated the names, so the yarn specifications will be as indicated.

We plan to continue carrying both, so please choose your preferred type.

Currently, there are few colors of SingleMerino available in the shop, but we will dye more sequentially as new stock arrives at the end of July.
