LJP Summer Linen is here!

Hello everyone,

I introduced LJP Summer Linen, a summer yarn, on Instagram,

and the response was surprisingly good,

so I immediately started thinking about pre-orders (made-to-order sales).

I wasn't very interested in summer yarns until now,

and although I love linen and silk for clothes,

I found yarn difficult to knit with

and never found anything good,

so I thought,

"Oh well! It's wool even if it's hot!"

But then I tried Purl&Soho's LinenQuill, which was pretty easy to knit with

and I liked it. Although it has a lot of linen fuzz lol.

I wonder if you're supposed to knit it as is, embracing the texture without pulling out the fuzz,

or if it might feel scratchy when worn, so you carefully pluck it out.

Anyway, I ordered a few types of summer yarn from a supplier.

And that's how I found a favorite

and decided to introduce it this time.

Baby Alpaca 50%

Linen 25%

Silk 25%

100g, 400m, fingering weight, approximately fine.

Two to three skeins should be enough for a summer garment.

It's resistant to splitting, the fuzz isn't bothersome,

and above all, the moist feel of the baby alpaca

makes for a blissful knitting experience.

There are two colors:

Kitsune (Fox)

Smoke pink base

Saffron orange and mauve gray speckles

The name comes from looking at my favorite Mirokomachiko's

fox illustration every day.

I knitted a swatch.

This one is 20 sts x 27 rows for a 10cm square with 3.6mm needles.

My tension is loose, so this is how it turned out.

But I think it's about the same size as LemonJellyPool's Fingering.

However, it stretches lengthwise and doesn't shrink (not elastic).

Next up is

Chinoiserie

This photo is probably the closest to the real color (though it varies by browser).

I will upload as many photos as possible to the product page,

so please take your time and have a good look.

Actually, I had a completely different color in mind when I made it,

and it turned out different from what I expected.

And I also put too many speckles, more evenly than usual,

so I thought it might be too much,

but to my surprise!

It turned out to be a grunge-like? Hippie-like?

A slightly retro, exotic color that I love.

That's why with hand-dyeing, the base color, the balance of speckles,

and the texture of the yarn,

when you wash it, dry it, and twist it,

it takes on a completely different look.

Furthermore, when you knit it into various designs,

it becomes a unique and wonderful piece of work,

which is a miraculous magic.

When I was a university student, I watched a French film called "Mondo,"

and there was a scene where a Vietnamese grandmother drank tea in her home,

which I've never forgotten. Since then, I've always wanted to recreate the image of this chinoiserie

in some way.

So, finally, to the main topic:

Pre-order Details

=================================================

Pre-order Period: April 29th (Sun) 8:00 PM ~ May 6th (Sun) 8:00 PM

Estimated Shipping: Sequentially by the end of June

Price: ¥3240 (tax included) per skein

*Sales are limited, so there is a possibility of selling out before the end of the period.

*To ensure as many customers as possible can purchase, orders for Summer Linen are limited to a maximum of 4 skeins per person (for both types combined).

=================================================

Due to raw yarn procurement, there is a limit to the amount that can be imported at one time,

so there is a cap on the number of pre-orders.

If it sells out quickly or you can't get your hands on it,

we will consider a second batch.

*If you are disappointed because it sold out, please contact us anytime.

We often don't notice these things ourselves.

This time again, it will be limited to a total of 4 skeins per person, combining both types.

But since it's summer yarn, if you want both types, two skeins of each should be enough

to try various designs.

Anyway, since it's called "summer yarn," I pushed myself to make sure it's useful in the summer, otherwise it's meaningless.

I still have a lot of other yarns to dye for events and such,

but I will do my best to deliver this round of orders by the end of June!

This might not apply when there are many types like LJP Basket,

but usually, I dye orders in the order they are received,

so if you are in a hurry, please place your order early.

I will be out and about during Golden Week,

so there might be a delay in confirming payments (also because it's a holiday)

and responding to inquiries.

However, I will check emails and Instagram,

so please feel free to ask any questions.

And for the other new colors and LJP Basket that I've gradually started introducing on Instagram,

please wait a little longer!

Ciao!

Well then, everyone, please enjoy your wonderful holidays,

and if you like, please consider the summer yarn.
