Gomashio Project
It arrived! A cool pullover!
When we announced the start of the Gomashio Project,
the sample knit from our test knitter, who kindly volunteered to be a monitor, arrived.
It's incredibly cool!
■Pattern
lalimar by Isabell Kraemer. The pattern can be found here.
■Yarn used
LemonJellyPool Single Merino "Gomashio"
From the hem: #04, #03, #02, #01, #00
↓ Three colors from the hem (from bottom: #04, #03, #02)
↓From bottom (#03, #02, #01)
↓With the body
↓Raw yarn #00 used around the neck
I tried it on for a bit, and
it's light and warm.
Since it's a single ply, it creates
a beautiful drape towards the back hem.
It has a simple design characteristic of Isabell's work,
but the silhouette is feminine and the V-neck is elegant.
Knitting with fingering yarn makes it light and lovely.
Regarding this pullover, due to my photography skills,
the contrast appears strong in the photos,
but in reality, the color changes
aren't as distinctly striped.
If you'd like to make the transitions
a bit smoother,
please refer to the following.
Bonus
Although it's not sold as a base,
I knitted a hat with HeavenlyDK.
When changing colors, knitting about five rows alternating between the darker and lighter colors
helps the colors blend.
I recently knitted Andrea Mowry's "So Faded," and
for that too, I alternated colors for about 5cm using the same method.
When I added LA BIEN AIMÉE with a slightly longer repeat at the end (the hem),
it turned out striped.
So, if you don't want crisp stripes,
it's best to choose yarns with a uniform base color.
The bottom yarn, for example, is dyed in a way
that clearly separates the purple and white bases.
↓ Yarn like this, for example,
tends to create stripes.
When knitting socks,
that's actually a good thing lol.
"Gomashio" and "Rum Raisin" are fine!
I hope this was helpful??
Gomashio is very chic, and
even with a simple design,
it's sure to create an original piece.
