Good evening.
This morning, I threw out my back at work.
I have another job on the side,
and I tried to lift a large cardboard box in an awkward position
and felt a sharp snap.
I wish I could pretend it was nothing, but I can't even breathe.
It seems I can't do things I used to do as well as I thought.
The doctor told me to rest,
so even though I want to dye the yarns that were ordered,
I'll be taking a break for two or three days.
Anyway,
I'd like to talk about the name of my shop.
I thought a lot about the name of the shop.
Now I sometimes think it would have been better if I had chosen a name that was easier to type,
but I'm quite fond of it.
Some of you might know, but it comes from an episode in the novel "Daddy-Long-Legs."
I love reading so much that I read about 300 books a year,
and I also write a reading blog.
Among those, "Daddy-Long-Legs" is a favorite book that I've reread countless times.
In it, the protagonist Judy discusses with her friends in the dormitory
whether they could swim if there was a pool of lemon jelly.
It's so charming. I love discussions like that, and "a pool of lemon jelly"!?
That's why it's LemonJellyPool.
Next, the concept.
It's not as grand as that sounds,
but I generally like delicious-looking colors.
Like fruits and sweets.
I own about 200 recipe books,
and as I look through them,
there's a parade of lovely names
like plum, blueberry,
vanilla, and chocolate.
When knitting, the color of the yarn is important, of course,
but I think the name is quite important too.
Whether starting with a pattern
or starting with a yarn you admire,
you ponder various things and get excited even before you start knitting,
and while knitting, you're thrilled by the unpredictable color developments,
and the yarn is that essential essence.
Even with colors I wouldn't normally choose
or colors I'm not particularly fond of,
there can be fresh discoveries,
so I want to keep exploring.
With that meaning in mind,
my concept is to dye with the feeling of traveling
to various sweets and fruits around the world.
I have recipes for reproducing products,
but the charm of hand-dyeing is that the yarn and the dye each time
create different expressions.
The joy of creating new products is also immeasurable.
Today I wrote about the shop's name and concept.
Well, I apologize for the lengthy post.
Since I have a thrown-out back, I'll go to sleep early.
Happy Sweet Knitting!
