Hello.
It's been a while since our last shop update.
How are you all doing?
I can feel autumn in the air, but
these are summer yarns for sale. (I've just accepted it)
We will be selling cotton-blend Lemon Sock and
the new bamboo-blend Moon Sock.
Both are highly recommended.
Sale Date & Time
Saturday, September 18th, 8:00 PM
It's usually on Sundays, but
this time it's Saturday, so please keep that in mind.
Shipping will start from Tuesday, the 21st.
There is no purchase limit per person.
Green Apple

Lemon Sock
A yellowish-green.
While such refreshing colors are nice when knitted in a single color,
they can be surprisingly versatile when used as a thin accent color,
instantly adding a stylish touch.
Orange Sherbet

Lemon Sock
That artificial orange-colored sherbet
you find at a certain ice cream shop.
Lately, I've been fond of soft, bright colors.
Cabbage

Lemon Sock
A green that looks like it's from a cute picture book.
Whether it actually resembles cabbage is debatable.
Melon Soda

Lemon Sock

Moon Sock
The most requested summer yarn color
was soda colors.
Melon soda doesn't actually taste like melon, does it?
The vanilla essence is key.
Caramel Ribbon

Lemon Sock
My favorite ice cream flavor
is Caramel Ribbon.
The bliss of licking the syrupy sweet caramel part
is supreme.
Parasol Meeting

Moon Sock
I tried dyeing a really summery color.
Will the knitted fabric be striped?
If you want to feel cheerful, this is for you!
Pineapple Savings

Moon Sock
Another summer color.
A bright, vibrant color like a pineapple,
or like electricity.
Fun is the priority.
Passion Fruit

Moon Sock
A captivating color that ranks high in this series.
The specks resemble the juicy pulp of passion fruit,
making it irresistibly charming.
It would be a lovely pastel combination if paired with Melon Soda ♫
Gingham Check

Moon Sock
Gingham check always brings out a girlish feeling, doesn't it?
My favorite dress is gingham check,
and when I wear it, I automatically feel like I'm in a uniform at an East Coast girls' dorm.
Rapeseed Blossom News

Moon Sock
Easy to coordinate,
it's a standard color, so if you're unsure, go for this one.
Silver base with rapeseed blossom-colored specks.
Our fellow "swimmer" (knitter) is already knitting a sample of Lemon Jelly Pool!
Existing Colors
Coconut Sable

Tobari
Sugar Sugar Violet!

Fig

These are the colors.
There's one more color I haven't photographed yet.
This time, Derako-san is
planning to release a sock pattern in the #IcecreamVansocks series,
so many of the colors are (unofficially) inspired by that.
Moon Sock is
60% SW Merino
25% bamboo-viscose
15% Nylon
Fingering weight
400m/100g
This is the yarn.
It's a light, shiny, refreshing yarn.
But since it has a high wool content,
it's easy to knit with and the fabric comes out neatly.
This time, due to summer fatigue? Or some mysterious illness,
the quantity is a bit less than usual for a shop update.
Lemon Sock and Moon Sock
are not scheduled to be sold again until next year,
so even if they don't quite fit your current mood,
the perfect season will come eventually, so please consider them (my logic is falling apart here...)
After shipping the previous pre-orders, I took a break from dyeing
from early July for a while.
It was an unprecedented hiatus.
Even after resuming dyeing, the pace was astonishingly slow.
Where did the power I had at the beginning of the year, when I was dyeing a tremendous amount, go?
But it's okay.
You can't make good things by pushing yourself,
and the first half of the year was psychologically stressful,
so it's natural my physical condition deteriorated.
My physical strength is also declining with age.
Rather,
I was able to enjoy the Olympics and Koshien baseball,
and most importantly, my reading volume increased significantly,
and I feel like I'm gradually sorting out my thoughts.
I also got to meet fellow knitters (swimmers) this summer,
and took a short trip,
so I feel refreshed.
I was talking to someone from the hospital where I work the other day,
and we've had our daily lives taken away by COVID,
so while we might not realize it,
I think both our minds and bodies have become fragile.
Maybe it's better to say we're hurt.
There's the fear of infection, and anxiety about the future, and many other things,
but I simply feel we are hurting.
It doesn't mean anything in particular, but
being aware of it means
I think it might be something important.
Like relaxing with a little something sweet,
Or re-evaluating things you usually do under pressure,
Or waking up 30 minutes later than usual.
Not to slack off or spoil yourself, but just a little bit,
To consciously release the tension in your whole body and take a breath,
I think that would be good.
My body, which was out of sorts,
Felt much lighter after some time passed.
Even if I think about all the reasons why it happened,
Bad things are bad,
And when things get better, they just do naturally.
There's nothing to do but go with the flow.
My afterword ended up being long.
The next shop update will be
When we start to feel the coolness.
I hope everyone enjoys their shopping.
